Our History

Our church community has a rich history in the Marysville area. Marysville FMC began with a handfull of people in late 1969 lead by founding pastor Donald Atkinson. Pastor Atkinson and his family were the driving force behind the launch of the church and the development of the current church property on Grove St.

For the past 28 years Marysville FMC has been led by community leader and pastor Victor Rodriguez. In 2019 we will be celebrating 50 years as a church family. Our gathering of believers has always strived to be a community of faith that is relentlessly focused on following Jesus and making disciples.

In 2016 Pastor Victor Rodriguez announced his retirement and in 2018 our church was blessed by the addition of our new lead pastor Bryan Rees and his family. In the recent months God has led our church leaders into the realization that in order to move forward into the next 50 years of ministry some strategic shifts are necessary.

In August of 2018 we welcomed Bryan Rees, our new lead pastor. With a breath of fresh life and an eye turned to the future our church has renewed passion to see everyone in the growing region find the hope and purpose of new life in Jesus. We honor our past, but are now fully engaged in pushing forward toward what God has for us in this next season. One of the recent changes we have made is embracing a new name. Marysville Free Methodist Church is now RockCreek Church.

The name people have known us by for generations may have changed, but our goal of reaching people for Christ and making disciples in the name of Jesus remains the same and burns as brightly in our hearts as ever before.
